THE SHAPE OF TIME

IN PROGRESS  Remember art is an adventure, an exploration. Therefore, this site is posted so I, myself, may study it. I have already discovered a couple things. Even though I am an expert in one point perspective I had never studied it in motion. It is an adventure.... Jack,  August 6, 2007.

The Red Queen Principle performance shows that there is a dimension of depth. It shows it with Plato's Cave in Color.

At the right is an eleven second .gif animation video of the shape of time. It was made with the video camera moving forward.  The vanishing point is at the center of the figure's eyes. However it is determined by the camera or the center of your eyes. The camera is YOU moving toward the figure that is the same height as you are.

This animation of TIME CITY shows 13 seconds, 16 seconds and 24 seconds.

I am only using simple one point perspective to illustrate the shape of time. I am aware of two and three point. I know that tall buildings will appear smaller as they get farther away. I think we could look at three point a little more. What if it didn't exist? What if only horizontal one and two point existed?  If we looked up at the night sky and looked at a tiny star many light years away it would be real size and totally engulf us. Of course the same would work for the moon or sun. If we then apply this to the illustrated one point the entire scene would engulf us and all we would see would be the two eyes of the other figure. So if DEPTH is the shape of time as I suspect we could also visualize the destruction or collapse of time. What would happen? We would be engulfed by all the objects in the universe and cease to exist as an individual.

You can notice in both the animation and the video's that we actually are engulfed by the flat object and only after we move or it moves within itself are we able to know that it is separated. You may say that you "know it is separated" but this is only because you have mentally decoded it into separate parts. Only the movement actually separates them.

This is the video from which the previous illustrations, including the .gif animation was taken.
