1.  I have been spending most of my time this month on the "Marxists for Kucinich" rally. It went off better than my expectations.

2.  Eight people participated. I recruited two at the site. One marched and the other was a still photographer.

3.  There was a total of two still photographers and two videographers.

4.  In retrospect I would think that it would be impossible to do the rally/march. However, as we can see the documents show otherwise.

5.  I have a shortened version of the first video camera on YouTube as well as longer versions in rm and wmv on the site. I also posted it twice on MySpace.

6.  I haven't worked on the second camera yet.

7.  I put links to the video on the Environmental Theater page. Therefore, it will get a lot of views.

1.  I can see that I need to be winding down the action/performance part of Retro Punk X but still would have a lot of work to do on the intellectual part.

2.  I applied for the Sideshow two. Here is a quote from the Sideshow2 creators; Friday September 14th and Saturday September 15th - At a venue in Downtown Dayton (To Be Announced) - The Sideshow is an annual event in cooperation with The Dayton Circus Creative Collective. Last year’s event connected many genres of art, from music and food to installation and performance art - it was a spectacular night showcasing many artists both new and established, from many diverse backgrounds. Here is my proposal;

I would like to do two parts of the http://www.retropunkx.com performance.  This performance is subtitled “The Artist VS the Super Organism”.  It is a very large performance art piece that is made for Internet consumption.  It consists of eight chapters plus character descriptions, epilogues, study guides, and many links to related performances.

The two parts I would like to do would take about ten minutes each. I do not want them to immediately follow each other (meaning another performance should be between them).  These parts are mostly visualized but not written.  Here is a brief description of each of them. 

  1. We will call it Chapter 5-A, The Force.  Captain3 will conduct an orchestra using the tearing of paper for the music. This will cause a disturbance in the force. The Audience will be the orchestra.  I have done this piece without the audience being the orchestra before at a couple poetry readings. It was called FLUXIS THIS.  Here is a description of Captain3;

CAPTAIN3 is the narrator of the performance. He is (as well as others in the performance) from early in the first half of the 20th century. He was born at about the time that Marconi invented the radio and has used it to explore the Ǽther. In the past 100 years Captain3 has also built time machines that can go forward and backward in the Ǽther world. 

  1. This is Chapter 4-A, War of the Super Organisms. Dr. Jack the Entomologist will lecture about the other super organisms, the ants.  Here is a character description of Dr. Jack;

      DR. JACK THE ENTOMOLOGIST has been studying insects and there colonizing tendencies. He has concluded that they are what is currently called Super Organisms. He noticed the similarities between these Super Organisms and Governed Men. And concluded they are the same type of species and are trying to occupy the same niche. Since the Ǽther (ether) world forbids that two species occupy the same niche he is using the most successful Super Organisms, the ants, to fight the onslaught of the Governed Men. He is doing this because he sees that the individual species called Man is threatened by the Governed Men.  Dr. Jack is blind and Deaf. Therefore, he is immune to the Sirens that appear in the Enticer girls.  

     As I write the script for this I will mention the Sideshow Two in the performance.  In this manner it will be recorded and added to the RetroPunkX performance as well as YouTube and MySpace video’s.

     Due to my poor health I would like to put in my 8 hours doing digital work.  

Application Requirements; 

  1. Jack Bowman and Assistants
  2. I have been doing Performance Art for the past 15 years with more than 60 pieces. I create because it is an opportunity to break from our otherwise mundane life. It allows us to be that ant that slips away from the trail, even if, only for a little while.
  3. My work has been described as “serious” but I try to put humor into it. Retro Punk X is meant to look Retro Punk but in a modern way. I expect the audience to say to themselves, “What was that?”
  4. A small staged area with an audience. I would like to have, for the staged area, about 15 by 15 feet but it could be much smaller. I need two ten to fifteen minute slots with at least one other performance between mine.

3.  I sent out three emails about future possibilities with the performance but I want them to show interest because I can do it with very little assistance from now on. It is true that they should enhance the performance but I would actually be writing it for them instead of a necessary part of the performance. The parts remaining require me and perhaps one other assistant for the Sideshow2 performance.

4.  I worked on the Izan Knarf props. They are going along well.

5.  I may have mentioned it earlier that I cancelled the Cincinnati performance because things that could be done there could be done much easier in Dayton.

1.  One goal was to get the RetroPunkX site far enough along so that it is interesting enough to read/watch. I have reached that point so I think I will take a couple of weeks of break.

2.  THE SHAPE OF TIME:  One morning (a couple days ago) when I woke up I realized that depth was the shape of time. I have a lot of work to do on it yet but it will go with the 3-D page/pages.  I have been working on the "shape of time" for about 15 years. And suddenly there it was. I am sure working on the performance art piece and the 3-D part was what made the thoughts come together. I was not thinking about it or the performance at the time. It just appeared.  I think our mind just puts thoughts together. Especially if you are asking the question continually for 15 years.

1.  The break only lasted two or three days and then I got restless. I created the site for Millennium's End and the site for Out...Out...Brief Candle and posted them with the related links from RetroPunkX. These performances were done in 1993 and 1994 but had extreme similarities to Chapters of RetroPunkX. It just appears that once we set our minds on a philosophy we do not change it. We only rearrange and make it clearer.

2.  I really tried to find the source of the changed "Out...Out...Brief Candle" text but could not. I know it is related to (but only in part) Shakespeare's As you like it and Macbeth as well as an Elvis song. I do recall that I put the 15 minutes in it because of Andy Warhol's statement. It seems I saw it on a bathroom wall in a Coffee House on High Street in Columbus Ohio. If I did, I would have recorded it in one of my poetry notebooks.  I will probably check the ones that precede 1994 and see if it is there. It is not in the four or five "Out...Out...Brief Candle" creation notebooks of that time. I did check them thoroughly.
