NARRATED BY CAPTAIN3 Environmental Theater is the highest form of Performance Art if not the highest form of Art. It involves the performers going into the real world and doing their art. It has advantages in that it always has an audience. There is always a lot of effort on someone's part to get an audience. In a multiple performance such as a festival this burden goes to the Organizer. To get adequate audiences for an unknown is difficult. Performance Art is an unknown because it is extremely high level creativity. The audience will come because they want to be stunned by creativity. They do not come for the story that is told. The story that is told can be the stunning or shock factor but visual and audio are usually needed. In the ultimate sense it is Conceptual Art. A playing with the mind of the individual or collective mind of the audience. Here we find Karl Marx in one of his many disguises. He says, "One thing that I have noticed in the Ǽther (ether) is that most of the contemporaries write a lot of material about their beliefs but never SHOW it. With the help of Chuck and his ability to deal with the Internet, I have made a MySpace page that allows people to SHOW their beliefs. They are to make themselves some type of clothing or flag and have someone photograph them in public with it. They are then to post it on the MySpace page that is created for them." http://www.myspace.com/retropunkx He continues, "A few, in the Midwest Rust belt have been showing their leanings for a few years. They are documented in the Communist Cafe, Environmental Theater Performance Site." The Super Organism both has to physically function and intellectually function in the Real World Environment. Toward this end there will be a Marxists Rally for Kucinich on Saturday, May 19th, 2007 in the Oregon District in Dayton Ohio. We will meet at 10:00 p.m. near the coffee shop that is located at 400 E. Fifth St.
This will define Industrial Culture Environmental Theater for years to come. It will require a minimum of three performers. It can easily accommodate ten performers or more. The performers will wear Marxist colors (hammer and sickle) and display Marxists for Kucinich banners. They will hand our flyers that support Kucinich for President in 2008. They will hand out Bazooka Bubble gum. They will offer to stamp a hand or arm with a hammer and sickle. The guidelines are; 1. Performers cannot have any weapons. With Environmental Theater there is always some risk of arrest. 2. The performers must do what any official says. This also is to avoid arrest. 3. It will last only 15 minutes (starting at 10:00 or shortly thereafter) 4. Performers must believe they are a Marxist for Kucinich for the 15 minutes. After that they can be who they are or who they want to be. 5. Performers cannot stray far from the photographer. This is because the document is important for the Retro Punk X piece. 6. The performers must sign a release that gives up all their rights to the documents and performance. 7. Performers must return all costume material. Additional Thoughts A couple things since I gave you the essence of the performance.
Afterthoughts Eight performers participated in the Marxists for Kucinich Rally. There were a few verbal confrontations but no physical. The performers walked from the Gem City Music Store on 5th street to the end of the Oregon District and back again.
